Every Mimish product is made in audited factories, tested by certified labs, and held to standards that meet or exceed California Prop 65 and CPSIA. We know the things you pack for your little ones end up in their hands, beds and backpacks. Here's exactly what we do to make sure every Mimish piece is safe for your family and kinder to the planet.

Certified factories, personal oversight

We only work with factories that are certified and audited by third-party, world-recognized agencies. We don't just take a factory's word for it.

Our team is on the ground with our makers, factories and suppliers, visiting in person and talking with them every day. We also bring in independent auditors every year to confirm compliance across social responsibility, worker conditions, product quality and safety.

We also start every new factory relationship with a small test order. A partner earns a bigger role only after their work proves itself.

Every product, lab tested

Every Mimish product is tested by certified, independent labs before it reaches you. Testing confirms each item meets our safety and quality standards, including our requirements for harmful chemicals and PFAS. If a product doesn't pass, it doesn't ship.

PFAS-free, and we check

PFAS, often called “forever chemicals,” are sometimes used to make fabrics resist water and stains. They can build up in the body and the environment, so we keep them out of our products.

Every factory we work with commits to making PFAS-free products. But a promise isn't enough for us. We lab test our products to verify they meet the PFAS standard, so you can trust it's true.

Meeting or exceeding California Prop 65 and CPSIA

Every Mimish product meets or exceeds both California Prop 65 and the federal Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

CPSIA is the U.S. law that sets safety requirements for children's products, including strict limits on lead and phthalates. California's Proposition 65 sets some of the strictest limits in the U.S. on chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. We hold every product to these standards wherever it's sold, not just in California.

Some brands meet Prop 65 by adding a warning label. We don't. Our products must pass outright, so you'll never find a Prop 65 warning on a Mimish product.

GRS-certified recycled polyester

We use GRS-certified recycled polyester throughout our line. Recycled polyester is made from post-consumer plastic, such as bottles, giving that material a second life instead of sending it to a landfill. It also takes less new petroleum to make than conventional polyester.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an independent certification that verifies recycled content from source to finished fabric. It also sets requirements for responsible chemical use, environmental practices and worker conditions along the way.

Always improving

Safety standards and science keep evolving, and so do we. We continually monitor our standards and practices, and update them as new research and regulations emerge. Our goal stays the same: safe products for our kids and a healthier environment for the world they'll grow up in.
